Hey naturalistas!! So many of you may have heard of this wonderful healing clay called Bentonite Clay. Well I used it for the first time. It was a great experience. I documented my first time for you.

Bentonite Clay is great for natural hair because as you know, natural hair can be very dry. In addition, to the colder weather, dry natural hair is a no no. It can lead to major breakage. Personally, I decided to try this clay out on my natural hair because lately I have been a bit stressed and my scalp has been super dry. Not to mention, that I suffer from eczema as well which occasionally leaves me with bothersome flakes.

Bentonite Clay can be purchased at Whole Foods, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe and online at Amazon here

So many of you may be wondering, what are some benefits of using Bentonite Clay in natural hair. Well it:
→Helps improve curl definition
→Gives hair a deep cleanse/detox
→Increases shine & moisture
→Aids in hair growth/ length retention (deep cleanse helps with allowing the scalp to stay free of any build up which can block pores and in turn decrease chances of hair growth).
★Other benefits:
→Detox the body (Liver)
→Facial Toner
→Fades hyperpigmentation/dark spots
→Facial Mask
→Improves the immune system
→Used to heal eczema, psoriasis
→Relieves digestive issues
There are so many other great benefits, but those were just a few. I will say that I will try this amazing clay out in some of the other beneficial ways later on.

So how was my experience? Screen Shot 2015-11-16 at 12.53.27 AM

I would say that it was good. I knew from research that it was a great mask and that it helps to detoxify the scalp and hair. That was really what made me interested, that and because its all natural. I will be incorporating this clay mask into my natural hair regimen as a clarifying shampoo (once a month). So basically when my hair is very dry, itchy and has lots of product build up, this product will be my go to. It left my hair very clean but not stripped of moisture, shiny and my curls were defined yet elongate at the same time. I would like to see how it works to clear up my eczema on my scalp.

Some suggestions:
✰Make sure your hair is properly detangled prior to application. I normally do a pre-poo session before hand, in the video I did not. Having detangled hair will help ease the application process, ensuring that each strand is completely coated with the clay.

✰Try to have your hair a bit dampen prior to application because the clay will dry and harden a bit.

✰Make sure you make your clay mixture as liquified as possible without being too loose. This will ensure better application.
